A few bits of information this week:

1) I’ll speak to Click-em Inn to let them know our race plans for 2010.

2) I’ll send a cheque to yacht club to cover our planned swims 2010. ABP are happy that we can meet 08:30 for 09:00 start except in August when we need to move things to ½ hour later.

3) I attended Louth Sports Forum on Thursday night and needed to get the “matchsticks” out. I was not alone in that view as the representative from Dolphins was on same wave length. I attended really to gauge interest in the possible Louth event, as the only way it will be viable would be using the leisure centre car park and I’ll have to sweet talk lots of people to get this to work/permission. It may however also help in locating alternative funding sources.

4) I’ve got a possible date for a trial “aquathon” at the Meridian Centre: 08:00 28/3/10. I know some have contacted me already and I’m also aware some of the Dolphins may be interested. Lifeguarding should be OK as I can do most of it and if I go off last one of the centre staff can keep an eye on me. It will be a training event only and you will need to time yourselves unless anyone fancies a job!! I need to know confirmed interest and rough swim times so I can put you in the right group. Distances will be 400m swim and 3mile or 6mile run (1.5mile loop) It will use part of the possible triathlon route so will be helpful to Leisure Centre staff and me. If there are +ve vibes may look it at being a regular as pool hire is ludicrously cheap! (£10 per lane!)

6) I forwarded details regarding a triathlon specific first aid course, it will cost about £60, venue to be confirmed

7) Vicki and Gary T were at Sleaford ½ marathon. Apparently the route is not as flat as you may think, its pretty exposed around RAF Cranwell area  andthe weather was a bit inclement! I’m also unable to find the results so far.

8) Time to empty my “in-box” again of ludicrous triathlon holiday offers and details of various UK events. Contact me or I hit the delete button
