Sorry for the break over the festive period but hopefully normal service can be resumed. I have got the events schedule (in draft) form for 2009. If the event is run by us it is highlighted with an asterix your annual membership fee means you are insured etc, otherwise its £1 a go.  I’ve also added in some local events, that are cheap, and club members are likely to be spotted at. I’m missing a few dates like triple Croxby and Louth 10m so they will be added later. I need to speak to ABP, the yacht club and 2 police forces before it can be 100% confirmed. We had no problems with approval last year so I don’t expect any this year. If anyone can commit to a working as a marshal for any of our organised events it would be gratefully accepted. I have received the usual list of Ironman events from a company offering “packages” Some of these are abroad and if you fancy entering beware with regard to insurance should you need medical treatment out-with the UK. Even full BTA membership won’t save you. I have also been sent details of a 65 mile run to commemorate the D-Day liberation of Pegasus Bridge. Not sure of the name but either way it’s a long run, finishing at the exact time of the assault i.e. just after midnight and you need to raise minimum £1000 for nominated charity. On the results front: Paul T 2nd in the Xmas day dip in the docks, he also went in at midnight on New Years Day.  Having done it once myself “bracing” is not the word! I’m unsure if anyone did the Boxing Day Trot, I didn’t as I couldn’t make the start line due to a hangover. I enclose the results for our own little winter duathlon from my house. Your chairman is in disgrace following this as he dosed himself up with “red bull” to make him go faster. The only quicker thing it did was make him find a large bucket. The New Years Day 10k had a huge field and apart from being cold at the start a good days racing was had: Gary Thomas 37m 26s, Paul Thompson 39m 41s, Pete Cullum 45m 24s, Doc C 45m 25s, John Cameron 47m 29s., Vicki Thomas 49m 55s with apologies to anyone I have overlooked. Best wishes
